The people asked for it, so here it is: my subtitles for the first trailer of Zero: Nuregarasu no Miko, or that Fatal Frame game that Koei Tecmo is putting out for the Wii U.

The trailer is pretty dialog light, but if you’re just joining us, here’s a brief summary of the premise that I’ll crib from my own YouTube page:

Zero: Nuregarasu no Miko, aka: Fatal Frame: The Raven Haired Shrine Maiden, is the latest installment in Koei Tecmo’s horror series, set to come out exclusively for the Wii U published by Nintendo. The game stars Yuuri Kozukata, an aloof girl with special powers that enable her to retrieve lost objects, as well as people who have disappeared by the hands of spirits. When she gets a request to go find one such person, she treks to Hikamiyama, a famous mountain in the area that only those who seek their own death dare tread upon. Naturally, supernatural troubles and terror abound.

New to this entry in the series is the ability to use the Wii U pad as a stand-in for the series’ iconic camera, as well as the level designs, with the game said to take place in wide open areas, in contrast to the indoor levels that typically dominated previous entries.

Zero: Nuregarasu no Miko is set to come out in Japan on September 27, 2014. No Western localization has been announced as of this writing.

No guarantees on future trailers, but I’m definitely interested in the game, so if more pop up, I’ll do what I can to keep the subtitling train going. :D!

Just noticed that there’s someone with a broken neck.

… I missed broken neck ghosts… There weren’t any in 3 and I haven’t found one in 4 yet, so I’m glad there’s a new ghost with a broken neck!

EDIT:  SO I RAISED UP THE BRIGHTNESS ON BROKEN NECK AND JFC!  SHE’S SO BLOODY!  If her neck was slashed (and that’s kinda what it looks like due to all the blood), it looks like it should only be hanging on by a section of the muscles/skin to have that effect.  But I don’t know, I’m not someone who deals with corpses.

I don’t know if her neck is actually broken or not but I believe it was slashed actually. There’s a scene earlier in the trailer of the same girl (or at least someone who looks extremely similar which would be kind of bull) singing some kind of song before slashing her neck in front of the main girl. That’ll be where all the blood came from, yeesh
